09/01/2012

This is going to be a very very quick posting, I have been waiting for the internet to come back on for ages. I know they say that a watched kettle never boils, well the same goes for broadband routers!!

Sam helped me pick the winner this week, naughtly little thing was sat in my swivel chair, and thought it a great laugh to whizz around while I tried to take his picture.  Anyway I finally got this one.

Sorry this post is so short, I want to publish before the internet dissappears again.

Have a great evening.

New Beginings and a Blog Hop

05/01/2012

Happy Birthday Bev.................you are catching me up!!

Where did Christmas go?  How can it be our first challenge of 2012 on our Challenge blog. Gina is hosting our first Challenge of the New Year, she has themed it New Beginings, but it DOESN'T have to be a New Year card it can be a New Baby - New Home or Job or even School etc, just play around with it and most importantly have fun.

After all the Advent Christmas makes - yes 24 NEW and different ideas on the trot, I feel a bit idea empty.  I sat and hoped an inspirational card moment would pop into to my head, but as you know cards are not really my forte, I just stared out of the window!  But I do have a friend starting a new job, she is really excited as it has a expresso machine in the staff room! I found her a wicked little expresso cup and saucer in France, so thought I would make it into a little gift set for her.

I filled the expresso cup with coffee beans so when she opened the cellophane she would get a wonderful aroma.  Three coffee flavoured macaroons arranged on the saucer completed the prezzie, well apart from the wrapping - cellophane, a tag and our NEW Congratulations ribbon, you will be able to find the ribbon here.

I already know she liked her prezzie, and the ribbon was carefully folded and put into her bag I noted!!

How about you, do you have a New Beginnings idea - then why not enter our challenge, and show us what you have made.  Or just pop by and see what all the DT girls have come up with, they have certainly used their imaginations and worked around Gina's theme.  You can find the challenge blog here .  Thank you to everyone that joined in with the last challenge, please do not forget to check to see if you won!  We only had 24 entries, but it was Christmas, so you could be the winner of Bev's Ribbon Bag  - Plum Pudding.

Regular readers will know that our super duper January Ribbon Pack SALE is on - ribbon packs reduced from £5 to just £1 each.  We want to tell as many people as possible about this super offer, so we thought of a Blog Hop (ooooh I have always wanted to have one of those).  When I told the girls in the warehouse, they looked at me as if I was mad - "A WHAT?".  You can get the full list of blogs over at Crafty Ribbons Challenge Blog. At each stop there'll be a word to collect and a candy draw. I've got this gorgeous collection of ribbons to give away, so leave a comment for a chance to win my candy.  (Please refresh your page once you have left a comment, our spam filter likes to eat them.  If your comment has disappeared then please email it to me at craftyribbons@gmail.com and I will add it for you.)

This is your first blog, the start of the blog hop. My word is the. At the end of the blog hop you should have 12 words, work out the phrase and leave it in the comments back at Crafty Ribbons Challenge blog. The blog hop will run until 6pm on 18th January 2012 and the winner and the winners of each of the Design Teams Candy will be announced with the start of the New Challenge on the 19th January

Your next stop is to Mandy and her blog is here. If you lose your way you can go back to Crafty Ribbons Challenge to get the full list. Good luck everyone.

Oooh I do hope I have got that all correct, I have never been very good at giving directions or following maps.  When I took my skipper exams I had to have the charts the same way up as we were sailing, much to the annoyance of the male sailors............but I passed!.

Good luck everyone and hope you have some fun.

Hello wednesday - Popcorn garlands

04/01/2012

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday  "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

Hello wednesday"s are back - well only just.  I am a day out, thought today was Tuesday!

No I have not lost the plot and this is not a leftover from our countdown to Christmas ideas - I made this for my birds.

It has turned pretty nippy here in Dorset, so I thought it was time to start looking after the birds in the garden.  I made a bag of popcorn then threaded it onto 3mm sheer ribbons, I tried 3mm satin but the ribbon kept breaking the popcorn.  The sheer ribbon here, is so fine that it just slipped through the popcorn.  I made several of these garlands and have hung them on my trellis.  I waited awhile to see if I could get a photo with a bird feeding on them........but.................it was too cold, for me not the birds!

So a nice easy ribbon idea to get you started for the new year.

Who would like some FREE ribbons on Facebook?

All you have to do is like our Facebook page here for a chance to win these three packs of ribbons We will announce the winner tomorrow on Facebook.

Hope you are all warm and well.

Christmas Friday FREEBIE winners

03/01/2012

Hello all, it seems like ages since we said "Hi".  Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New year.  All the Crafty team arrived this morning bubbling away, eager to start pulling and packing orders again.

Thank you to everyone that has placed orders during our closure, the girls are working through them and I believe they have completed up until 29th December's, so none of the January Ribbon Pack orders have been despatched yet.  We have sold out of a handful of packs but there are still plenty to choose from, all the packs are reduced from £5 to just £1 for ALL of January - or while stocks last.  You can find them HERE.

Sydney and Mollie had the pleasure of picking numbers from the "Bingo" bag - I had no squeaks from them today.  Why you ask......................well.......I had promised they could come and craft in MY room.  (normally out of bounds to CHILDREN!) Shhhhh it is Bev's birthday on Thursday and we have been making her a special surprise (although I think syd let the cat out of the bag over Christmas!!!)

Sorry photo not very good, I had the wrong lens on the camera, but the others were at home! Mollie is a teeny weeny bit out of focus........BUT you can see the winning numbers

Numbers 13, 14, 16 and 31 were pulled from the "Bingo" bag.

Number 13 = Jo

Merry Christmas everyone.

We're going to have a fun Christmas as the kittens keep undecorating the tree. It's a good game. They climb the tree and try to throw down the baubles faster than I can replace them.

Claire x

Number 31 = Sharon

Did you do anything different or exciting during the break? We did.........................

...........................no silly, that is not Tony!  It is Rob his son, I wanted to try out some action photography and what better place then at a motocross race.  Rather pleased with this photo, both wheels off the ground!  I am so used to photographing ribbon that my first batch of riders were all headless!!  I forgot to move the camera with the rider, but I got there in the end.

Have a great evening.

P.S.  Rob found out he came second in his class for the race.  Well done Rob x

Gremlins in the advent

12/12/2011

Sorry everyone, gremlins have got into Crafty's advent over the weekend.  I think they have set off the party poppers, posts keep popping up.

Will try and send them away....................

3 Today

29/11/2011

Our little Mollie is 3 today.
Happy Birthday Mollie.

She had her party on Sunday and I got to play pass the parcel!
We hope you have fun today with Daddy and Mummy.

Mollie first came into the warehouse when she was a few days old, her birth was our 5th ever blog post!!!
WOW it only seems like yesterday.

Glad to read that you all loved yesterdays challenge goodies from Andrea, Mel and Sharon, and YES PLEASE Andrea we would love some cupcakes at Olympia. Tony would happily become your official taster!!

Todays goodies came as rather a surprise.................the box was rather battered and crushed and looked as if it had travelled up and down the country - I think it had.  When I opened it, I found these little treasures from Claire from the New England Challenge!!!  She contacted me after I had said "That's it on the New England goodies"..........she could not find hers.  I double checked and no we had no parcel from Claire, sadly we declared the parcel lost, but it finally arrived!!!

Claire had made this delightful card holder and a little tea light holder.  The card holder is a wicked idea and using the wide grosgrain ribbon will hold the cards on display perfectly. Where did you get the little matching red pegs from Claire? They are a perfect colour match for the New England ribbons.

Houston we have a problem....................who sent their Challenge goodies back in a yellow feet street shoe box?  because these wonderful creations are yours.

As soon as I spied this in the box, I wanted it.  This is drop dead gorgeous and totally me...............I LOVE it. I wish I had come up with this idea.

I am getting a little worried that maybe I entered into the challenge and sent my own creations back, they are so ME! This little pillow has a slight aroma to it, I can see it hanging on a bedroom door of a little person during the lead up to Christmas.

Oooooh look at this.  Could you bring yourself to use it?  Adorable who ever made these creations.  This New England Collection is so part of me, the colours, the texture, the memories - I am delighted that other crafters have captured the true essence of this range. Thank you. Please let us know who you are!

A short and sweet posting today - I am still working on my project for tomorrows Hello wednesday and unless I get a move on it is going to be a "Work in progress" project!!

Hope you all have fun.

Guess who.......

28/11/2011

I bet you can not guess who is picking the numbers from the "bingo" bag this week........................it really was not that dark outside......I promise. Ummmmm and sorry about the state of their school shirts, we had been crafting and blowing bubbles, it looks as if most of the bubble mixture went all over them!!

The mystery Bingo Bag pickers pulled four numbers from the "Bingo" Bag for this weeks Friday FREEBIE winners.
Each winner will get one of Bev's NEW plum Pudding bags.

Number 1 = Jan
Hi Ali I love the green behind the snowflake , last year I used some ribbon that looks much the same as your snowflake green ribbon but in blue I used it on cards and did the snowflakes punched out and blue backing , I loved them, and the ribbon looked delish
As for Bev's Bag Yummbles, is that a word? I love plum pudding and I love the look of Bev's new bag
Have a good weekend
Love Jan

Sweet 16

22/11/2011

Just a quick posting today - Ali and Tony are back.  But boy do they look tired.  They helped us unload the van and gave us all our little prezzies, thanks.

But after our French Pic Nic lunch (which was totally delish by the way) we sent them home, they were like a couple of walking zombies.  Ali kept on starting jobs but would forget what she was doing!!!

Sam picked this weeks Friday FREEBIE winner.

The wining number is 16 = Sherry Edwards

Poor Ali and Tony - sounds like such hard work, but no doubt it'll all worth it.

I love the embossed velvet ribbon the best - thanks for the chance of winning.

Happy weekend all

Well done Sherry, if you could send me an email to rachie.craftyribbons@gmail.com and I will send you the embossed velvet ribbons, but only if you promise to stroke them!

Thanks to everyone, we hope Tony and Ali got some rest this afternoon and that they will be back to normal tomorrow.

Take care

Rachie and Bev xx

Friday FREEBIE - 44

18/11/2011

Boy are we pleased it is Friday, what a busy week.  I know we call Ali the "butterfly" as she is always flitting around the office from one job to the next, but boy have we missed her and Tony.  We think everyone has decided that it is Christmas all at the same time.  I promise that we are all working as hard as we can on your orders, and they will despatched as quicky as possible.

We have spoken to Ali only very briefly, the hours of the French shows are killers, so there is not much free time to talk. When she rang yesterday evening she was filling the gaps in the ribbon cabinets with anything she could find, the van is too far away to restock from during the day. Friday is a nocturnal day they will be restocking from 8am and will not close until 9pm, yikes will she be hungry!!!

What shall Bev and  I give as a Friday FREEBIE prize this week??????  When we put together the EXCLUSIVE Christmas ribbons, way back in the spring we both had our "love" and "hates".

I just loved the tag ribbon, I could see the tags being cut out and used on cards, but it was not for Bev.

Bev's favourite was the embossed velvet, even now she can not resist giving it a stroke as she passes it in the aisles.

I think it is a bit too sophisticated for me! Although I would not say no to a parcel wrapped in it.

What's your "Love" of our Christmas ribbons?  Leave us a comment and we will pick a winner on TUESDAY.  Ali is back then and she will have had time to catch up, and she likes seeing the children in the afternoon.  No doubt she will have a little surprise or two for them, they miss her terribly when she is away.

We all wish you a happy crafting weekend.

Rachie, Bev and ALL the Crafty Team x x

If you are unable to leave a comment due to our spam filters, please email it to rachie.craftyribbons@gmail.com and we will add it for you.
All the comments go into our "Bingo" bag and we draw a random number(s) on Tuesday.
Please check back to see if you have won, it is up to you to claim your prize - we do not contact you.
