Fantastic Posting
24/03/2009
Wow thanks Sem, this is a fantastic posting (on wed 11th) about us. So pleased you like the ribbon and our service.
"Morning, peeps!
Just wanted to share info on a new crafty supplier I've just had the pleasure of using:
Crafty Ribbons. Being stuck in a city that just doesn't cater for the 'serious' crafter, I buy most of my stash from various online shops, but I hadn't been able to find somewhere that stocked a massive range of ribbon by the metre.... until now!!
Crafty Ribbons are based in Dorset and stock a huge range of...ribbons!!! I placed an order late last Friday (6th March) and it arrived this morning! I ordered a whole array of different 6mm Grosgrain ribbons (excellent colour range), a 3mm satin pack for a fiver (which has 30 mtrs of 30 different colours), but best of all was the Ribbon Box. The Ribbon Box is exclusive to Crafty Ribbons and is a steal at £4.00. Click here to read all about it (there's too much info to tell you!), but basically you get 22 mtrs of ribbon plus a ribbon box, and you can choose from 10 different colourways. You can buy 3 of these ribbon boxes for a tenner, and as they arrive flat-packed, I think they are a fab idea for crafty presents! Here's a photo of my new ribbon stash (my ribbon box is the 'strawberry cream' one):
I am now the proud owner of 84 mtrs of new ribbon! LOL!
Will be back with a card later today.
Hugs, Sem"
Sem as a wonderful blog visit it HERE and enjoy.

SORRY THIS CHALLANGE IS NOW FULL
Is spring here!? Well, we have decided it is, at Crafty Ribbons. So here is our new challenge - Spring Time
Would you like to take part in our Ribbon Challenge # 4?
Be the first to see our NEW range of spring ribbons. We have 10 free bundles of ribbons to give away, each bundle will contain lengths of all the new ribbons (NOT on the website - yet!). All we ask in return for these ribbons are two cards made from these fresh spring ribbons! The ribbons can be used to enhance all forms of card making, rubber stamping to decoupage as long as it is around the "Spring Time" theme!!!! You can even throw in a little bit of Easter if you wish.
This daisy has been cut out of one of the ribbons in the Spring Time Collection.
If you are up to the challenge, then send us an email to info@craftyribbons.com marked RIBBON CHALLENGE #4! The first 10 to reply will be sent an email requesting address details so we can send your free ribbons!! Your cards will be posted onto our website and will also be on display at the exhibitions we attend in the UK and France 2009
Olympia madness!
21/03/2009
Wow what a great day at the Olympia show. My workshop was again sold out with a group of ladies hoping to be able to get in as "extras', how could I say no to them! But, by the time I got back to the stand, poor Tony had a queue that stretched the length of the stand. I think he was really, really pleased to see me!!!
On my tour of the show I came across a quilt by the "Springfield Quilters" that rather took my fancy, so decided to share it with you.
Springfield Quilters were given the challenge (talking about challenges, keep your eye on the blog tomorrow!) "Dark to Light" one of the members said "Winter to Spring!" - the name of the group being called Springfield they seemed to think this a very apt theme to employ.
Appliqued by hand and machine embroidered, embelisher utilised, patchworked and painted, with input by all members it was difficult to know when to stop!
The duck pond looks amazing, closer detail below.
The violets look as if they have been made with sheer ribbon.
These daffodils reminded me that you can make some wonderful daffodils with ribbon. Maybe Sydney and I will make some for Easter.
The star of the quilt for me, are the lambs. They are so cute.
I hope you have enjoyed this quilt as much as I did. It has made me feel as if spring is on it's way.
I wish everyone a Happy Mothers Day for tomorrow, have a great day.
Cupcakes Galore
20/03/2009
These delightful cards are from our Ribbon Challenge # 3 - "Cupcakes Galore". The cards have been on display on our exhibition stands in Glasgow, Birmingham and this weekend you can see them in London. They are certainly well travelled cards, they will need passports for the next show, which is in Paris!!
Our cupcake collection has definately hit the spot with the vistors to Olympia, the ribbons are selling like "hot cakes"!! The cards are displayed across the front of our exhibition stand, which is right opposite the escalator, so they have been viewed by almost every visitor to the show.

All these cards are wicked, thank you all for taking part in this ribbon challenge, I will have to brush up on some of the techniques you are using, so I can answer the admirers questions! Oh! Nearly forgot I have met Tilda and her brother, they are adorable.
Ribbon Roses
18/03/2009
Sydney and I had been secretly making yellow (her favorite colour!) ribbon roses for Mothers Day.
They are very easy to make, take a length of wire edge ribbon about 80cm and tie a knot in one end. Go to the other end and find the little wire, gently pull the wire to gather the ribbon. Syd enjoyed this but snapped a few wires, so do not pull to hard! Once the ribbon is fully gathered, twist it around the knot to form the rose. Use the spare wire to hold everything in place. We added wire stems and wrapped them with florists tape.
Syd was so excited that we had finished the roses this morning, that she went running up to her Mama (Bev) and gave them to her!
Well at least I got to see the joy on Bev's face. We made the card as well, Syd did the stamping of Mama (don't look too closely as you will see little red finger marks!!!!)
Thank you for all your get well wishes - I am on the mend.
Anyone for a Cupcake?
17/03/2009
Our Cupcake Ribbon has arrived!
Scrumptious Vanilla or Chocolate Cupcakes with lashings of creamy icinig! Add a few sprinkles or hundreds and thousands to the top and you have the perfect cupcake recipe.
We are sure you will enjoy these mouthwatering ribbons - just indulge yourself in these fantastic ribbons!!!
The ribbons were used in our Ribbon Challenge # 3 "Cupcakes Galore", the cards will be posted on the site soon. Ali is sorry there has been a slight delay, she is still rather unwell and is trying to get better for her workshops at Olympia this week.
Workshops with Ali
16/03/2009
This week Crafty Ribbons will be at Olympia in London attending the Stitch and Craft Show. Ali is holding one of her rare "Ribbon Embroidery" workshops everyday at 1.30pm. Why not come and join in. It's too late to book advance tickets for this workshop, just book when you arrive.
Meet "Honfleur" a new member to our Crafty Team.
Ali bought this bear at the Paris Show last month and has been using it to demonstrate ribbon embroidery on, at the recent uk shows. (A demostration piece, it's a work of art Ali!!!!) I have been trying to persuade Ali to embroider Mollie's christening robe, but she claims to be too busy, pleeeese Ali
Busy day
14/03/2009
We have had a very busy day at the show. Lots of customers popping on the stand to say hello. Denise Farrar even arrived with a prezzie for us! I had spoken to her during the week and she had ordered some of our new "Love Chocolate" ribbons. She mentioned she had a wonderful CD full of chocolates and the ribbon would be perfect to go with it.
The chocolates go all the way round!!
Thanks Denise, this card is really good enough to eat!
Not only do I love chocolate but I also have a thing for shoes. During my tour of the show I came across these gorgeous shoes, not sure how comfortable they would be for standing up all day at the show!!
Maybe these little slippers would be better.
These shoes and slippers are part of a display of recycled items in the "Sewing for Pleasure" hall. They have been made from broken china plates. What a great idea.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
