Daisy Chain Part 2
05/08/2009
Before I start with the next batch of goodies from our Ribbon Challenge # 7 - Daisy Chain, I must apologise to Beryl.
Beryl sent in this stunning daisy card and I forget to show it to you yesterday - sorry. I am going to blame Tony for the oversight, well he was rushing me to go home as he was hungry!! This card is truly stunning - the daisies have been made using Stitchel stamp, tinted with H2o's and double embossed using extra thick embossing powder and the daisy stamp is from Magenta. Wow - no you are right, my card making knowledge is not that good. Beryl put the recipe on the back of the card - thank you Beryl.
What with teddies and now Maragret's fairies I think my location for taking the photos was perfect. This card is not just a card, but you can insert a photo (9x13cm) into the aperture, to make it really special. Self adhesive gems have been used to decorate the flower centres.
Margarets second card also has a surprise, lift the Daisy Chain lime ribbon and you can leave a secret note on the message plate - wicked.
Margarets fairy on this card can be removed and used as a bookmark - what a clever idea Margaret.
Marjorie said this has been her favorite challenge (arhh but I know what the next challenge is - I think you will like it even more!!! Tee Hee)
This is Popcorn Bear and you are right Marjorie he is cute. We do like our teddies, I hand painted a large "Tatty Teddy" on to Mollies Nursery wall above her cot this time last year, he is over a metre high!
Marjorie this decoupage is wonderful, I love the colours.
Natalie sent in this flat card, it has no fold (it would not stand up!! Behind the card you will find a twig doing all the work!) The yellow skinny ribbon is just a perfect colour match for the flowers.
This card also from Natalie has a skinny ribbon at the bottom.
Sydney fell in love with this card Natalie, she said it was her eating the lollie!!
Tina mentioned she was going to try and make a tiny daisy from ribbon (she sent me the daisy brooch last time), this one is cute. I still have not mastered colouring in Tina!
I love this Fairy Tina has used, the card got sprayed with cosmic mist in error, looks excellent to me.
Tina sent in this little note pad, I think I have mentioned I am the "Note Pad Queen" - I only have one or two Tony, honest!!
I have to hide all the yellow cards that arrive, Sdney thinks they are all for her! So when I saw this delightful card from Tracey and Paul it was quickly removed!!
Tracey and Paul also sent in this card, the flowers have been cut from (I have no idea) but are gorgeous! Hope you found the ribbon Tracey.
You are right Wilma - your card is "Blooming Lovely"
This little box from Wilma contains a surprise.
Little stamped notelets and matching envelopes, this is just so delicate.
When Wilma saw the Daisy Ribbon it made her think of the song "Daisy Daisy" so she made this delightful Daisy album.
Daisy Dasiy give me your answer do..
I'm half crazy over the love of you!
It wont be a stylish marriage - I can't afford a carriage!
But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle made for two. What a treat Wilma - thank you.
A really big thank you for such a talented selection of projects and cards. I hope you have enjoyed looking at everyones creations, please do leave leave a comment and tell them how great they are. We ALL love reading your comments and we could not have a challenge without all you talented crafters!!
Daisy Chain
04/08/2009
Our NEW Daisy Chain Ribbons truly hit the spot with our ribbon challengers, we received some fantastic goodies for our ribbon Challenge # 7 - they took our breath away. Daisy Chain comes in 3mtr lengths for £2 and there are 5 scrummy colours - Lime - White - Lilac - Lemon - Pink. 18mm sheer ribbons with printed daisies that look as if they have been hand painted, a delicate scallop trim has been added to both edges of the ribbon. I know I am easily pleased, but I do think this photograph captures the charm and fun of this small collection of ribbons - hope you also like it.
Without further ado here are the projects from Ribbon Challenge # 7. There are so many different projects that I am posting half today and the balance tomorrow.
Amanda surprised us with this delightful pair of dungers and hair band. (Syd was too big and Mollie was to small to model them for me!)
A close up of the Daisy Chain bow on the hair band.
And the trim detail on the dungers, what a brilliant idea and such fun
Beryl made this teddy card, I just think the inside is wicked and rather cheekie!
Beryl also made this collection of boxes, a treasure on their own.....
....But when opened they do contain treasure!! The little scroll message reads " Time passes... friendship stays right where it is put!"
Look at this adorable little hedgehog (did anyone else fall for Spud on telly?!) Carols has his spines and looks rather happy.
Carol also created this dancing cat with flowers - the flower made with ribbons is just perfect.
Carol F sent me another ATC to add to my collection, at what stage do I have to swap? Great idea using the ribbon as a frame - I like that!
"If you go down to the woods to day...." This teddy from Carol F has been decoupaged, he looks very much like the teddy Beryl used, maybe his brother!
Dorothy sent us an awesome collection of goodies, this is her teddy card also decoupaged - called Daisy & May.
This card looks like a shop window to me, with lovely lacy curtains.
This card has a wonderful butterfly and flower pop out section in the centre, but I forgot to photograph it - sorry Dorothy.
This is Dorothys last creation, she said she got rather carried away with ideas for these lovely ribbons. Thank you Dorothy.
This card is from Jan - welcome back Jan we missed you, hope you are feeling much better.
Jan I think this card is gorgeous, the colours are so scrummy - I know it has no Daisy Chain ribbon on it, but we also sent a collection of skinny ribbons as well. See what you can do with "bog" standard satin ribbon!!!
Linda has stitched the skinny ribbon through the scallop edges of the daisy ribbon - clever.
Linda's daughter also joins in with the challenges, this is a very elegant card Cath.
Maggie sent in this gift tag and card, the little girl is called Daisy. I wish I could colour in like this - gorgeous.
Maggie said it felt like Christmas when her parcel arrived, she clams to have "limited" sewing skills - I don't think so, this bag is a dream, think I might keep my sweeties in it. SHH don't tell Sydney!
Tony is complaining that he is hungry and wants to go home - men (just as I am having fun!!!). Hope you have enjoyed Amanda's through to Maggies goodies. Log on tomorrow to see Margaret's through to Wilmas.
OK Tony I am nearly finished.
More Rolls
03/08/2009
Yep here is this weeks shopping trolley of fantastic Ribbon Rolls
Ten great fun rolls have been added this week. I have used the Veg Patch Ribbon (with carrots and peppers!) to wrap a birthday present for a friend who is a passionate gardener. I used brown paper and just tied the veggie ribbon around the box then added a bow - she loved it.
We have had a perfect clear warmish day here in Dorset, so Sydney and I went down to the woods with our cameras. We were re-shooting the photos for Ribbon Challenge 7 (remember my SD Card problem GRRRGHHH). We have taken some really wicked photographs with the awesome goodies you sent in, we have boxes with treasures, note pads, baby boots, dungers, a wedding album, oh and cards of course. So keep checking tomorrow as everything will be revealed - I promise it really has been worth the wait.
I did get a little worried while in the woods with Syd - she put an (imaginary) scarf and woolly hat on me and said it was snowing. Snow in August! Is this normal for a 4 year old? I thought it must be and so joined in and made snow angels on the grass!!!

It is pouring with rain here in Dorset, hence why I cheered myself up with the picture of Mont St Michel. We took our Grandaughter there last year on a very hot day. Tony and I huffed and puffed our way to the top, while little Nia sat very happily in her pushchair under her parasol. By the time we got to the top, Grandad needed the pushchair!!!!!

Swiss Dots
28/07/2009
Ali has wanted to add a range of Swiss Dots to our Dottie range of ribbons for a while, but she did not just want the norm - you know what we mean.... white dots, we wanted to find a range that was a little bit special with coloured dots. So when she came across this range of 10mm Grosgrain she was the happiest bunny on the block!
47 stunning colours including the basics like Red, Blue and Pink with white Swiss Dots but it also includes some scrummy colours like Cappuccino with Pink Dots, Aqua with Turftan Dots, there is also Tangerine with Black dots - perfect for halloween!
Ali and I were checking the order in together last week, we lined all the ribbons up on the big work table and started ticking the colour combos off together. "Rachie, not all the colours are here - we are missing Acid Green, Apple Green and there are several other Pink ones missing". Oh dear I tried not to giggle, then she noticed my waist line had expanded!!!
I only wanted to borrow them!!!! They are really wicked colours.
I do hope you enjoy the ribbons as much as we do.
Rachie
Bargain Rolls
27/07/2009
Here are our Fantastic Bargain Rolls for week 3
More great rolls at our great price - 10p per mtr!
Do you have any dealings with SD Cards? This little thing just larger then a postage stamp has had me pulling my hair out - honest. Mine has eaten my photos, one minute they were there and then the next - poof, gone into the ether. NO, TONY I DID NOT DELETE THEM. They just disappeared, telling me I had a corrupt file and all these funny (not laughable funny, but squiggly) character things appeared where the photos were ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!
After my rantings and ravings around the warehouse on Friday (and most of the weekend) I calmed down. It sounds silly but I kept putting the card into my laptop hoping they would suddenly re-appear as quickly as they disappeared, at one stage I noticed I had my fingers crossed!!!! Yes Tony I can take them all again. Most of the pictures were of the Ribbon Challenge # 7 - goodies. That's why they did not go on the blog last week as promised, I am really sorry and will re shoot them this week.
These pictures are from a NEW SD, and as you can see things have returned to normal, well as normal as it comes at Crafty Ribbons!!!
How many little girls do you know that would love to play with ribbons?
Should it be playing IN Ribbons!
Bev's Bag
23/07/2009
Lots and lots of pink ribbon. I needed cheering up and pink makes me smile! So here is my NEW Bev's Bag.
Velvet, sheer, grosgrain, jacquard, scallop edge, gingham, rainbow stripe - it's all in my ribbon bag. Soft shades of pink that all blend together including the NEW Rainbow stripe in 25mm, gorgeous!! Polka dots, glitter dots, marshmallow dots and polka dots, a real scrummy bag of ribbon - still at the fantastic price of £5.00 This bag is bound to cheer anyone up, it worked for me!
I should not be working this week but on holiday in France. Eating wonderful food, watching Syd and Sam playing on the beach and just having fun. Our car broke down, (just stopped) 3 minutes from Plymouth port - we could see the sea!!. We were catching the night boat and everyone was excited, Sydney especially, she had never slept on a boat before and she was having trouble containing her excitement!! The RAC man, Plymouth port and everyone was so good and helped in everyway they could. The RAC man mended the problem but said he would follow us to the port as we only had about 15 mins to get there for the night crossing!!! ARGH!
YES...YES....YES.....We are going to make it....... NO, NO, NO, we had broken down again.
The car had a major problem and we missed the night boat, we got towed to a hotel, by which time Syd just could not understand where the white boat was.
It got worse, all the garages in Plymouth were busy the next day, so could not fit us in, we finally found a garage out of town who could help. There was a 2.30pm boat that we were aiming to catch. We needed a new part that was being driven down from Bristol but it might not arrive in time and may not even solve the problem.
We missed the afternoon boat and the evening one was FULL. Don't think we will go on holiday.... so we limped back to Dorset.
Hence I am working, but having to walk to work as I am still without a car.
Enjoy my NEW ribbon bag
Bev
New Width
21/07/2009
We have a new width in our Rainbow Stripe Ribbon Collection - 25mm.
This is a popular ribbon and looks wicked in this new wider width. Makes great pom pom bows!
Love or hate
20/07/2009
Love 'em or hate 'em - stock takes! In a way I love them, the ribbon shelves become tidy again and it's easy to see where everything is, and you know how many metres or should I say kilometres of ribbon you have!! (A bit scary) BUT I also hate them because it highlights how many ribbons that are still not on the website - note to self... must try harder! Anyway love or hate ours is over for another year - phew!!
We have added a NEW shopping trolley of fantastic ribbon rolls today - still the same bargain value of 10p per mtr. We have also sub categorised these into satin rolls, wire edge rolls etc to make it easy to search for the rolls you want.
We had a really good feeling about these ribbon rolls they are such good value, they have gone so well in the first week that we only have 1 roll left of this ribbon!
It is a stunner, and perfect for summer as it's called Sand and Sea!
Although we were working hard counting for most of last week we did have a party for Sydney on Wednesday it was her 4th Birthday.
Sue made this wonderful "May Pole" cake for Sydney using ribbons - yellow of course!
It was also Sydneys last week at Pre School so she made a card for her teacher Kim.
Syd made this all herself, as you can see I have been training her to use ribbon!
We have lots of new goodies to share with you this week. Thanks for the Daisy Chain parcels for ribbon challenge 7 - they will also be going on the blog this week.
