Crafty Ribbons Gingham Love Card

Article Image

We love our Gingham ribbon!  We just had to have a play with the new colour  - Brown. Brown is just magic with the turquoise, a perfect match.

Take a square card we used one to match the turquoise ribbon, cover half of it with brown paper and glue in place.  Stitch around the brown section using a large zig zag stitch in brown thread, the lines do not have to be straight.

Postion the brown happy birthday ribbon down the outer edge of the card, stitch in place on both edges with zig zag stitches.  We did not stick the ribbon down first, but if you are unsure with a sewing machine then stick ribbon before sewing.

Cut a heart shape out of an off white card.  Lay double sided tape across the heart in lines.  Peel off backing and secure ribbon in place alternating between 10mm turquoise and 5mm brown gingham ribbon.  Stitch over the top of the brown gingham ribbon with zig zag stitch, trim thread ends.

Stick several foam pads to the back of the heart, remove backing from pads and postion heart on top of the card, so that it sits in the centre.

Tie a bow in 10mm brown gingham ribbon and stick to the top of the heart.

Your Gingham Love! birthday card is ready to be enjoyed!
